She is a summa cum laude graduate of Kennesaw State University, with a double major in Math and Secondary Ed. She also attended Lee University and Reinhardt College, where she was named to Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges and received both the Chemistry award and Voice award her sophomore year. Barbara has taught high school math for thirteen of the last 23 years, serving the remainder as a stay at home Mom and church administrative assistant. Currently, Barbara is working on her master’s degree in Leadership Administration.
Having celebrated 25 years of marriage to Steve Brown this past February, the couple was blessed with the opportunity to serve in the pastorate for over 20 years, more than 17 of which they had the privilege of serving in the capacity of Senior Pastor of Milford Church of God in Austell, Georgia. Barbara is the proud mother of three wonderful children: Lydia, who is an early childhood major at Kennesaw University; Heather, who majors in pre-med at Lee University; and Joshua, who he will be attending Lee University next semester
Steve and Barbara are excited and honored to have the privilege of serving alongside Dr. and Mrs. Donald Walker and Greg and Jan Baird on the leadership team of North Georgia. Humbled by His love and inspired by His grace; they view the future with faith and excitement, anticipating God’s plan and purpose for their lives as they minister in this exhilarating new venue in the coming years.
