April 10-12, 2012, 169 seniors from across this six-star state gathered in Gatlinburg for the Smoky Mountain Jubilee.  Examples choir (led by Charles Delk) from Lawrenceville Church of God, bringing 60 members and winning the church who brought the most participants, set the stage for a great day when they started us out and won FIRST PLACE in the local church choir event.  Our State Mass Choir, led by Barry Garland of North Rome Church of God, soon followed up with a RUNNER UP placement.  It wasn't long before we had winners in the Vocal Ensemble and Instrumental-Keyboard categories.  The competition was stiff but our states representatives were amazing! 

 

In the Creative Arts Division we cleaned up wtih RUNNER UP in Crochet/Knitting/Weaving, Handcraft, Oil/Acrylic Painting, Sculpture/Carving, Woodwork, and a grand slam with Rev. Steve Carroll's Wet Media Painting winning FIRST PLACE!

 

Additionally we We congratulate all our runner up and first place winners!  We had other excellent talent represented in other categories and to you, we tell you we are also proud of your entries and were honored to have you represent North Georgia.  Congratulations to all! 

 

Then to cap off the event, we placed in every superlative category taking away two first place awards and one runner up!  North Georgia, you are to be applauded!

 

To summarize, North Georgia received five first place and 10 runner up awards.
