Church of God World Missions joins in with those around the world who believe the Great Commission can be finished in this generation. Out of this belief has come a strategy to reach 10 major cities around the world with the people and resources God gives.

Amsterdam

The capital and most populous municipality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Amsterdam’s population in the metropolitan area numbers 2,431,000. As the commercial capital and one of the top financial centers in Europe, Amsterdam is considered an alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) study group.

Religious demographics in Amsterdam have been changed by large-scale immigration, and Islam is now the largest non-Christian religion. In earlier times, the Jews came to call the town “Jerusalem of the West,” a reference to their sense of belonging there.

John Lataster is overseer of the Netherlands; the Church of God has nine churches and 447 members. It is a country ripe for harvest.

Bangkok

With a population of over eight million, Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. Its full ceremonial name is partially translated as: City of angels, great city of immortals, magnificent city of the nine gems, seat of the king, city of royal palaces, home of gods incarnate … lending to the understanding it is a place of great spiritual darkness.

One of the world’s top tourist destination cities, it is also home to the headquarters of all of Thailand’s major commercial banks and financial institutions, as well as the country’s largest companies. The center of modern education in Thailand, the city of Bangkok is home to the country’s five oldest universities, founded between 1917 and 1943.

Veteran National Overseer Somnuk Montrelerdrasme oversees nine churches with 332 members.
